My journey with the honeybee started by surprise. One warm spring afternoon as I walked through my yard in Ardmore, Oklahoma, there was something strange going on over by the water meter. Upon closer inspection it became apparent that a colony of honeybees had moved in. As I sat in my lawn chair watching them coming and going my fasciation grew. Then as quickly as they had arrived, they were gone. There was nothing left except three small honeycombs on the bottom of the meter lid. But, I was hooked! You might say the honeybees choose me!
